		<description><![CDATA[I applaud you for really explaining this trend among politicians. I&#039;m not sure if you&#039;re a Detroiter. As a Metro Detroiter, Kilpatrick&#039;s actions astound me. Despite the fact that he&#039;s been caught up in his lies, there are still voters that continue to support him. Why? I have no idea.
The disturbing trend (the fact that some of these individuals are still in office or running for further office) I think signals these voters&#039; gullibility. When you have people who sleep with their friend&#039;s wife, steal money, receive inappropriate gifts, etc, it shows their lack of integrity. If these people lie about their actions, then what else are they lying about?
In closing, I think that the incidents that you mentioned not only signal a disturbing trend among politicians and but also among American voters. If voters aren&#039;t very smart, then they&#039;ll elect people with questionable intelligence.
